Take ten minutes to expand your phone list.

Take a few minutes and program a few extra numbers into your cell phone. It’s helpful to have numbers available for your neighbor, child’s school, car-pooling partner, or favorite take-out place. My phone can store 300 numbers, so it doesn’t hurt to have extras listed, even if I don’t call them often. You never know when you might need them…
I learned this lesson when my son’s bus was 30 minutes late. I was standing at the stop– three blocks from home. I didn’t have the numbers listed so I wasn’t able to call and find out why the bus was delayed. When I got home I added in the numbers for the school, bus company and my next-door neighbor. I’m glad I did. [LG]Store your cell phone here![/LG]
This summer my family and I packed up and drove to a state park four hours away. Just as we were unloading our bags my husband realized he didn’t have his keys. He thought he might have laid them on the ledge outside our door when he stopped to give the plants one last watering. He was frantic. Even though I call my neighbor frequently, I don’t have her number memorized. Good thing I had her programmed in the cell. I called and she found the keys right where my husband had left them. That put our minds at ease so we could enjoy the rest of our stay.
Great tip on keeping all of those important numbers on your cell.
I couldn’t agree more. I’d like to add “emergency Vet” to the list, speaking from experience, if you need one, you’re probably driving and too frantic for words.
Also, keeping a backup list of your numbers is a good idea; what if you lose your phone? I honestly couldn’t call ANYONE except my mother; without my cellphone, I just can’t seem to memorize phone numbers anymore!
I have been at work and unable to call my sister because I left my cell phone at home!
Great suggestions. Thanks..
