Strange But True: Dishwasher Lasagna

Dishwasher-LasagnaWhether you are looking to save time and energy, impress your friends, or just weird them out, here’s a recipe I found at PartSelect.com for Dishwasher Lasagna Florentine.
Yeah, you read it right. Lasagna from the dishwasher. I’d test it for you and write a review, but I am the dishwasher at my house. Anyone out there want to give it a shot and leave us a comment/review??
Apparently, you assemble this dish in aluminum foil and cook it in the dishwasher (NOT on the energy saving cycle – it needs the extra cook time). Since it’s sealed up water tight, I suppose you could be ultra-organized and wash your dishes at the same time. Hmmm. I don’t know…

    I’m sorry, but this is one of the most asinine ideas I’ve heard in some time. Dishwashers are not meant for cooking. Additionally, if that foil pack breaks, leaks or pops open during the cycle, there’ll be a nightmare of a mess inside the dishwasher — not to mention the ingredients clogging up the dishwasher drain. This idea is just plain stupid.

    Years ago, I saw a show on tv where they cooked a fillet of fish in the dishwasher. They wrapped it tight in foil and put it on the top rack. Honestly, I’m sure it’s just the moist heat that makes it so nice, but the dishwasher seems like overkill to me. Hmmmm…

    Just thought I’d leave a quick little comment for ya since I have tried this recipe :). It’s not the most logical idea out there I agree, but it does work, and doesn’t ruin your dishwasher so long as you wrap it securely and place it flat. There’s no weird dishwasher taste and since you lie it flat, even if the foil breaks (which did happen our first try – i guess I’m not a good wrapper lol) it doesn’t cover your dishwasher in lasagna. Your dishwasher doesn’t fill with up with water over the racks, it only dispenses water around using jets so there’s really not too much too worry about. Thanks!!

    This is truly disgusting!
    However, multi-tasking at it’s best!
    Toss your kitchen meat mallet away and use the pounding jets of water to soften your sole! Sounds good to me!
