End The Awkward Pause: Fun Game For Get-Togethers
November 6, 2007
This is a great time of year to get together with friends and family. But have you ever noticed that sometimes after a big dinner, everybody falls into a ‘food coma’ – and the television becomes the center of attention? Now, I am a fiend for board games, but even I understand that not everybody is up for a marathon session of Trivial Pursuit after a multi-course meal. However, experience has shown that everybody is up for some time with Table Topics.
Table Topics is a terrific question and answer based coversation game. I usually just deal a few cards to everybody, a card is read aloud, and we go around the table to answer the question. The questions are along the lines of “What other era would you choose to be born into?”, and “What would be the best thing about having an identical twin?”. Not only are these a great alternative to watching television, it really is a lot of fun to hear what people have to say – you will learn things about your friends and family that you never knew (in a good way! I promise!).
Interactive games are a great way to stimulate the mind, bond with family and friends, and keep the competitive spirit alive.
My family is partial to Catch Phrase and Tabu…..both exceptional games in their own right……try them for yourself!
