Cleaning up those unfinished projects
November 2, 2009
If you are like me, we seem to think that the good weather is going to last forever. When the weather is nice and we have the time and climate to get those outside house projects finished; it is also the time of year, that we can go out and enjoy life.
Well, I do not know about you, but I would definitely opt for a picnic rather than cleaning out the garage. Therefore, what inevitably happens is that fall is here before we know it and the outside chores and maintenance, still is not finished. Then we are scurrying around trying to get everything finished before the heavy winds and the snow flies.
Where do we go from here and how do we start?
We go back to making a list of all of the projects that we have not finished and another list of all of the projects that need to be addressed before our home is secure for winter or maybe you need a spring list, so that you can enjoy next summer.
After you have made your lists try to categorize them with ‘like’ things.
It is easier to get something finished if you are using the same tools and cleaners and goes a lost faster.
Then figure out the amount of time that the jobs, in each category, will take.
Now you can adjust a time and day that you know that you will have enough time to finish those projects. If you get the cooperation of ‘hubby’, you can finish two categories at the same time.
By making your lists according to ‘like’ things, you will also be able to have things that can be finished on the inside of the house, for those rainy days. This is a great time to do things such as washing the insides of the windows, checking for air gaps and leaks at the doors and windows, paint rooms and still be able to have the windows open etc.[LG]Gutter Screens make spring cleaning easy![/LG]
Good luck and happy organizing!
