De-cluttering a Clothes Closet with the Help of Your Friends
November 8, 2007
Cleaning out our closet is something that everyone has trouble doing because we don’t like to get rid of our clothing. However, only about 30% of our clothes are actually ever worn, the rest just take up space. We all have our favorites that we wash and have ready on a moments notice. Why do we do this?
Simple, these are the clothes that we feel the most comfortable in wearing. We feel that these clothes look the best on us, accent our bodies, never seem to look wrinkled or messy and we love the color. Have you ever asked anyone which of your clothes they like the best on you? If you would, you will probably find only a few of your favorites are in this category.
Try something new, experiment with the help of your friends, wear something that you have not worn in a while and ask your friends what they think of it. This will help you to decide what things in your closet will stay and what things you will get rid of. We all like to make a good impression and despite what anyone says, we like to have other people think that we look good. What better way of achieving that goal than to come right out and ask them their opinion.
You may like to get a few friends together on this project and tell them your idea for sorting your closet and put some fun in the project as well. It will be like having a fashion show for select members only. You may also find your friends wanting to participate clean out their closets as well. Who knows, maybe something they want to get rid of would become a treasure to your wardrobe.[LG]Check here for great closet organizers![/LG]
Once all of the clothes are sorted into categories, you can go on to the next step of cleaning and organizing your closet.
I completely understand. I have lots of clothes that I haven’t worn in a while. Not only that but I have so many boxes of other stuff I don’t need filling the bottom of my closet. Because they are stacked on top of one another, it also leaves less room for me to use the bottom bar to hang more clothes. I’ll take these tips into consideration cause my apartment is not that big. Thanks!
