Reader Hack: Trade in Your Books
September 10, 2007
I just moved to a much smaller house and have had to get just plain mean with myself regarding my CDs, books and clothes. I used to think I had to keep all books I enjoyed. NO MORE!
You can trade them at paperbackswap.com or titletrader.com for books on your list (which you can read and then trade or pass on!)
I figure if I give something away that I later want, I can always check it out at the library…happy decluttering

A neat idea is to donate your lovingly read books to your public library’s bookstore… most local libraries have a support organization “Friend of the Library” who often have a shop of some kind where books are sold … sometimes duplicates from the library stacks; sometimes books donated… its a great way to share and to enable your library to have some “extra’ funds to buy MORE books for people to borrow!
That’s a great idea. I know I held on to books from 10 years ago that I probably won’t read again for a while, but kept them because they were such good stories that I read. However, I was in the school’s reading program for many years and holding onto those books just took up too much space. I will donate my books to either our local Contra Costa College library or our city’s library. Thanks for the advice, now I’ll have room for other books to enjoy in the meantime before I donate them too!
