Dorm Room Shoe Rack for Incoming Freshman
June 28, 2013
It is the middle of the summer – Where did June go? I swear I look forward to summer all year long and then all of a sudden, I realize it has passed me by! I’m sure those of you who are getting ready to go off to college for their freshman year can agree with this sentiment. There is so much packing and preparing to do, and so little time to do it. Well let me give you youngsters a little tip about dorm-life: the bigger your dorm room shoe rack, the more friends you will make.
You may think that I am pulling your leg with this bit of advice, but I promise that it is absolutely true. The single worst way a person can ingratiate themselves with new roommates is to make a mess of the dorm room. Most college kids arrive with very few personal items, but the biggest mess in dorms is always shoes! Shoes on the floor, shoes under the bed, shoes on the bed, shoes in the bathroom – you name, I have seen it.
If suddenly your roommates realize that you are one big slob when it comes to managing your shoes, there is a strong chance you will go from big-man-on-campus to dork of the century. I’m not even kidding.
Nothing is worse than coming home from an exhausting day of classes only to trip over your roommate’s shoes when you walk in the door. This is a great way to get on the “do not room with” list, and be begging for new roommates come the spring semester.
Don’t just settle for a dorm room shoe rack – go big!
In fact, instead of just investing in a single dorm room shoe rack, get an all-in-one organizer with this Organization Kit. This organizer collection includes a 12-pair shoe rack, a laundry bag and a hamper, a hanging shelf organizer and some loose storage drawers. All of these items are easy to compact for moving into and out of the dorms, and they have space-saving qualities that you need when sharing a living space with others.
