Back-to-School: Organizing Your Dorm Bed
August 6, 2012
For most dorm-dwelling college students, the bed is a multi-purpose piece of furniture. Sure, it’s used for sleeping, but the bed is also a prime study area, where a student can lay out all textbooks, notes and other materials needed for an all-night cram session. With the proper items, a college student’s bed can also provide additional storage opportunities to those cramped dorm rooms. Here are some suggestions on making the most of a dorm bed:
- Shine a light on your studies with the Adjustable Clip-On Desk Lamp. Coming in black, blue, red and white, the clip-on desk lamp can be attached to the top of a head board or on the side of a night stand.
- A lap desk is another great item for dorm room studying. Go colorful and chose something like the Chevron Lap Desk, which comes with a cup holder for your coffee and other energy drinks.
For those that use a wireless mouse with their laptop, the Notebook Lap Desk with Mouse Pad would be a good option. For extra long study sessions, this lap desk comes with a cooling USB-powered fan, to keep your laptop from overheating. - Under bed storage is immensely important, considering the lack of storage space in most dorm rooms. Using the Stor-N-Slide Under Bed Container to store clothes, shoes or extra bed linens is a great way to utilize space under the bed.Want to create more under bed storage space? Place your bed frame on these innovative Storage Pod Bed Risers. These bed risers will add an additional six inches of space for under bed storage, while providing storage cubbies for cell phones, remotes, keys, small books, magazines, and more.
