Shoe Racks: A Must-Have for any Avid Walker
April 16, 2013
One of my favorite activities is to go on long, meandering walks that often have no destination point. In fact, I consider the walk itself to be the entire destination. Just this last weekend, I went on an epic nine-mile walk with my wife and dog, and though we stopped at the La Brea Tar Pits, I would not call that much of a destination. Ten minutes at the park and around we turned. With all of that walking, we need a lot of shoes, and in turn shoe racks to store them on.
In college and high school, I was what you would call a “car-dependant” person. I would drive everywhere I could – I even drove from my dorm room to the cafeteria across campus nearly every day. That is a distance of about a half a mile, or a ten-minute walk. Those days it would take me about a year to go through a pair of shoes, so I really did not have that much footwear.
These days though, I go through a couple of shoes every year. I find it helps to have a couple of pairs at the ready in case one falls apart. To avoid a cluttered hallway or closet, I have invested in a few state-of-the-art shoe racks that provide great storage and organization for my home.
Shoe Racks are for more than just walkers
Not to mention my wife has an even larger shoe collection than me, and it makes sense why we would need a 50 pair shoe rack. She is an attorney, so her shoes need to look great all the time. Storing the shoes on the floor will scuff them up and are professionally unacceptable.
So as you can see the need for large shoe rack can arise whether you are a professional that needs to keep your shoes looking great, or an avid walker that needs to have a lot of shoes!
